Ahoy Marauders and thanks in advance for your help with this.Playing solo today with Percival Whitewood (Seamanship 3, scouting 3, Leadership 2 and Influence 2) as captain of a sloop (2 crew). It's the second round of the game and Whitewood has no bounties (yet).
Pirate Olivier la Bouche (Seamanship 3, Scouting 2, Leadership 2) ignores the directional movement on the round 2 Event Card and moves into Whitewood's sea zone where the villain successfully scouts me. Request assistance resolving the following battle outcome:
*In the first round of naval combat, la Bouche takes out Whitewood's cannon. In the following round, however, Whitewood succeeds in boarding the pirate's vessel. Prior to proceeding to Crew Combat, however, I take damage to my Cargo Hold from a single success that la Bouche just rolled in his Seamanship 'loss.'
*In the first round of Crew Combat, I roll a single skull/success to la Bouche's none. I reduce the number of his crew from '2' to '1'. Keep in mind that each of our Leadership stats reads '2' so we're each rolling a maximum of two dice now.
*In the second round of Crew Combat, I roll a pair of skulls, but so, too, does la Bouche! So both of our Crews are destroyed at the same time (unless you count that I was 'one up' on him prior to this roll but I don't think timing factors into this). Who wins? Is is me/Whitewood because I have rolled more overall successes during the Crew Combat phase (3 to his 2) or is it a draw and 'no one wins' per the bottom of page 14 of the rulebook?
And if no one wins, do I just sail on with my damaged ship?
Thanks in advance for your help,
r.
