Just completed another solo game and would like an opinion regarding the following:

A. Have a timing question regarding the resolution of the Glory Card 'Pardon ["Play this card and pay 3 Gold for each Bounty you reduce . . ."].

At the beginning of the turn, my flute sat in the Sea Zone of Tortuga with a single French Bounty. The Event Card drawn at the beginning of this turn moves a French Frigate into Tortuga. For my first action [this turn], may I play 'Pardon' to get rid of the French Bounty (thereby allowing me to escape the attention of the French Navy and sail into Nassau unmolested) or does the Frigate scout for me first? Just not sure whether I should have played 'Pardon' earlier . . .

B. Does the '3 Gold' bonus in the Mission Card "Dutch Letter of Marque" count towards Glory earned during the Plunder of a Merchant Ship? (In other words, if I score 11 gold during a Merchant Raid but the bonus three gold from the Dutch Letter brings my total amount plundered to 14 gold, does that allow me to earn a Glory Point?)

ADDITIONAL QUESTION: On the Glory Card 'Thievery'["Play while you are in a port. Steal 5 Gold from a player of your choice. Players with the Purser Specialist are immune to this card."], must the player I'm stealing from be present in that particular port and/or have a chest with stashed gold there? I'm assuming not, since the card simply states 'player of your choice . . .'
